Senior Water Infrastructure Engineer

The opportunity:

This is an opportunity for a passionate Water or Environmental Engineer to join a team of water professionals currently providing a broad range of specialist services to public sector clients in the fields of three waters infrastructure and flood risk. Some of our key clients include Auckland Council, Kaipara District Council, Tauranga City Council and Kainga Ora.

About you:

You will bring your own specialist technical skills in Three Waters Engineering design and delivery. You will be confident in leading design projects, and engaging with the client to ensure scopes are clearly understood, and other key KPI's are identified and met.

A bachelors degree in Engineering with Chartership (or working towards Chartership) is a must.

You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • 5+ years experience in water infrastructure design and delivery
  • good report writing and communication skills, including the ability to translate and communicate complex technical information with clients and staff
  • proven programme and project management skills
  • entitlement to work in New Zealand because you're a New Zealand or Australian citizen, or have a residence visa

Some additional skills that would be beneficial include:

  • experience setting up contracts (including NZS 3910 contracts), managing budgets and managing/reporting to clients
  • experience managing projects and mentoring/supervising junior staff
  • experience with engineering design tools such as Civil3D,12D and/or AutoCAD
  • experience with hydraulic modelling software such as HEC, DHI, Innovyze
  • a practical attitude and a keen interest in helping to develop and innovate Awa's delivery processes
