Chartered Water Engineer

We are looking for an environmentally focused Three Waters Engineer to work alongside our Wellington based team to grow and develop our Civil Engineering services in Wellington. Your skills will complement our team of  scientists, civil and environmental engineers in the fields of water infrastructure and urban development.

About you:

You will bring your own specialist technical skills in environmental and three water engineering design and delivery. You will be confident in managing clients, identifying new opportunities, scoping and negotiating contracts and overseeing delivery.

You will be confident in managing clients, identifying new opportunities, scoping and negotiating contracts and then managing the delivery. You will care about your team, taking an interest in their professional development and supporting them as they grow. You will be well versed in working with other senior members across the business to prioritise, plan and schedule work.  

A bachelors degree and Chartership (or offshore equivalent) is a must.

You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • experience in engineering design and delivery
  • experience leading client relationships
  • ability to translate and communicate complex technical information to clients
  • proven programme and project management skills
  • ability to set up contracts (including NZS 3910 contracts), manage budgets and prepare invoices
  • ability to mentor and develop staff
  • entitlement to work in New Zealand because you're a New Zealand or Australian citizen, or have a residence visa

Some additional skills that would be beneficial include:

  • experience in water infrastructure design and delivery
  • experience with public and private sector clients
  • experience with engineering design tools such as Civil3D, 12D and/or AutoCAD
  • a practical attitude and a keen interest in helping to develop and innovate Awa's delivery processes
