Intermediate Civil Engineer

The opportunity:

Awa is looking for an environmentally focused Civil Engineer/Designer to work alongside our experienced Urban Development lead to provide Civil Engineering services in Wellington. Your skills will complement our team of water specialists, environmental engineers, hydraulic modellers and scientists in the fields of water infrastructure and land development. This is a role for someone eager to develop further as a civil designer and engineer by working on a wide range of opportunities ranging from land development to three waters infrastructure design.

Specific qualities we are looking for in this role are:

  • A NZCE, diploma or bachelors degree in engineering
  • 2-5+ years experience working within New Zealand's civil and three waters infrastructure industry
  • proficient in using engineering design tools such as Civil3D and/or 12D and/or AutoCAD
  • a practical, real-world approach to developing civil and water infrastructure solutions
  • ability to translate and communicate complex technical information to clients
  • a keen interest in developing as a professional consultant and managing client projects
  • an eye for detail, but able to keep the big picture in mind
  • a desire to look out for the well-being of colleagues and others
  • entitlement to work in New Zealand because you are a New Zealand or Australian citizen or have permanent residency

Some additional skills that would be beneficial include:

  • experience providing construction observation and/or contract administration services
  • GIS and cartography with ArcGIS and/or QGIS
  • experience with water science and three waters infrastructure
